What Kind of Battery Goes in the INFINITI Key Fob?

  • The standard INFINITI key fob requires a CR2025 type battery.
  • If your INFINITI key fob has been designed to work with INFINITI Intelligent Key, you’ll need to find a CR2032 battery instead.

How to Replace an INFINITI Key Battery

No matter what kind of key fob you have, the replacement process is straightforward and simple to grasp:

  1. Locate the release tab on the back of your key fob, and remove the metal car key.
  2. Remove the release tab, and pry open the small panel that you’ll find underneath it. Use a flathead screwdriver wrapped in tape to pry it out without damaging your key fob.
  3. Replace the dead INFINITI key fob battery with a new one. Be certain that you’ve placed the positive side face down.
  4. Reattach the protective panel and reinsert the metal key! Test out your key fob to make sure that everything’s gone as it should.

INFINITI Key Fob Troubleshooting

So, you’ve started to notice some problems with your INFINITI key fob as you drive around Coventry and Cranston. Or, maybe you’ve just replaced your battery but you’re still experiencing problems! Here’s a quick guide to identifying the real issue:

  • Having trouble with remote start? If holding the key fob closer to the start button fixes the issue, it’s likely that your battery is low on power.
  • If your push-button start feature isn’t working, even when your key fob is present in the vehicle, you might be facing a deeper issue. Try replacing your key fob battery, but inspect your primary car battery, too!
  • In an emergency, you can use the metal key in your key fob to unlock your doors and start your vehicle.

Still not having any luck? It’s easy to schedule an appointment online and get the help you need today.
